New items on Etsy!

Just wanted to let you all know that I have some new listings on Etsy. Kayla and I had so much fun putting together all these cute cats and naming them. Babs

Eliza

Mopsy

Ahhh, my prince has arrived. Wouldn't it be nice if it were this easy?!!! Just One Kiss is also available on Etsy. It's a print from my original artwork embellished with extra fine glitter and rhinestones on the frog prince crown.
I've been busy in my studio coming up with lots of new goodies to show, so check back often!! As always, I LOVE to get feedback from anyone, so please let me know what you think or even what you may be looking for or just say HI!

Wonderland

"Alice in Wonderland" is one of my favorite stories and I've been wanting to create her for quite some time now. The issue was always with the hair (since I don't usually use hair on my dolls). Yarn just wasn't working for me so I experimented with lot's of different ideas until I came up with shreading painted canvas.
Voila! Long golden locks!! This is also a larger doll than any of my others, almost 30"!! Her apron is made from a sweet, vintage hankie and the collar from eyelet linens adorned with some vintage buttons. I loved making her and can't wait to create one in a tiny version. Just finding the time is the key!!!!

Cats out of the bag!

Hello everyone! Thought I would share a few photos from some of the shows we have been attending this summer. Notice, there is a new addition, CATS!!! My daughter Kayla had this fantastic idea to create these cute, cuddly creatures. So, after several hours of Gilmore Girls re-runs and lots of turning inside out and stuffing, here they are!
Their sweaters were made from various felted wool and angora sweaters. Lot's of sweet embellishments were added like vintage buttons, millinery flowers and unique ribbon and lace pieces.

Of course they were all given names thanks to Kayla. To the left is Darla and her friend Babs.

This is Piffles. I love how soft her sweater is!

A very fine gentleman, Charlie with his friend Tabitha. Yes, she's a girl and his friend but not his "girlfriend"!!!

The oh so stylish, Eliza. LOVE the color of her sweet little sweater and pink polka dot dress.

And precious little Dot. OK, I love the color of her sweater too! They're all just too cute, she wants to keep them all, but we really need to find them good homes!!!
Good news!!
They're already litter trained,
They won't scratch up your furniture,
They like to cuddle,
Very good listeners,
Don't require very much food at all, in fact, snacks will do just fine,
Good at giving advice on projects, almost always positive!!!
Unconditional love, what more could you ask for?!!
I will be putting all the cats on Etsy soon, but if you can't wait til then, just email or call me and we will set you up right away with a cat of your own!

Have a HAPPY, FUNNY, SUNNY DAY!!!!!
XOXO

Where did the time go?!!!

I can't believe a month has flown by since my last post. I've been so busy with art/craft shows and "spring cleaning" my house that I didn't realize how much time had passed. I can't wait to catch up on everyone's blogs!
The wonderfully talented Vivian and I decided to do a little swap of our own. I told her that I wanted to make her, Queen of the Miniatures". She said, "Queens have too much responsibility, Princesses just get to play". So there you have it, Princess Vivian!!!

She's 10" tall.

Here's the sweet little bear that she sent me. She's soooo adorable and super tiny. I don't know how she makes them so small (about 3.5"). Thanks Vivian, I just love her!!!

I have some really cute additions for my Etsy shop that I will post in the next couple days. I hope you're all having a wonderful summer!

Jump for joy, it's SUMMER!!!!

I can't tell you how happy we are around here. We've had the best batch of weather lately and just in time for summer break! So, if you don't see much change on my blog or get much feedback, please be patient. I'm still here, I just may be outside running through the sprinkler or planting pink petunias or taking a nap on the front porch...... or painting my studio!!

So, I had this cute little china cabinet that I purchased from Goodwill a few weeks back. I just couldn't decide if I wanted to paint it and sell it or keep it for myself. My hubby thought it would look good in my studio, and that, of course, led to repainting the walls as well.
I've been having fun organizing all my supplies and finding cute containers to hold all the goods.

Now I'm ready to be super creative!!! I love how it turned out. I just have to get Kurt to build me a new computer area for all the lovely paperwork (yuck) and electronic stuff that I don't like looking at, but need! "Just make it cute!", I say.
I also wanted to show you the swap, from Viv's miniature swap, that I received from Debra over at Hophopjingleboo. Isn't it so cute?!! Debra makes some really beautiful things.

She also made this sweet ornament from one of my business cards, how cute!! Thanks Debra!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your summer. I'll be in and out of blogland to let you know where I will be showing at this summer. Next up is the 3rd Sunday Market in Bloomington, June 15th.
Here's a big smooch coming your way!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

This is Dorothy, my latest creation that I made for my Mommy for her birthday. Dorothy is actually her Mom's (my grandmother's name). She looks like this doll, so it was a fitting name! I used a scrap of beautiful silk for the coat and vintage fur from an antique coat was used to make her coat collar. Her brooch is from a pair of earrings that my Mom had worn for her 8th grade graduation. I used to peek in her jewelry drawer when I was little and I always loved those earrings because they were so sparkly!

I also had to put a picture up of my girl, Kayla (in the middle). School is finally out and she's gonna be a 7th grader next year!!! This was an awesome first year in Jr. High, but it went by too fast for Mom & Dad!! She made so many new friends that I think will be around for a long time!

So it's going to be a super fun summer filled with friends, bike riding around town, sleepovers, ice cream.......etc.! HOW FUN! (ah, to be 12 again!!)

Have a wonderful day!

XOXO

Miniature Doll Swap

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Just wanted to share a few pictures from the miniature doll swap that I participated in over at Vivs-Whimsy. Check out her blog to see some of the other awesome creations people sent their partners.
I was fortunate enough to get paired up with Debra at Hophopjingleboo. She does some of the most beautiful work! I wanted to make her something extra special and was really racking my brain for something different.
Well, here she is. It's a little mini Debra. When I saw how cute Debra was holding her papier mache dolls, I just couldn't resist trying to make this!
The doll is only 6" tall. Stuffing the arms and legs, yikes!

She has a little wire hook on the back of her neck so you can take her out of the box. Her little home is actually a wooden cigar box.
The fabrics came from some vintage linens and an antique fur coat.
I sure hope Debra likes it!

Now, onto my extra glam life! On Sunday I, along with Susan from Middleburg , attended the Bloomington 3rd Sunday market. It was a gorgeous, sunshiny day (and a tad bit windy!) I was excited to get rid of alot of stuff that I had piled up in my studio. Kind of a "spring cleaning"! Now I'm ready to fill up my bins with lots of new creations! We had a lot of fun and plenty of giggles all day long! We decided that we must come back here again, but we have to be INDOORS!!! (did I mention, it was a tad windy?!!!!)
Here's where you will find me next:
Bloomington, IL 3rd Sunday market, June 22nd
Morris Nostalgia Days at Ruby Begonia's, June 27 & 28
Looks like another beautiful day, so I'm going to have to go outside and enjoy the sunshine!!
Have a creative day!!!
XOXO
